A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be amazingly easy in case you’ve got a website hosting plan with our company. You can activate this feature through our advanced, albeit intuitive Email Manager, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll administer your shared web hosting account. You will find all the email addresses that you have created listed in alphabetical order and to the right of each one of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly notify you if a certain mailbox receives all the email messages pertaining to a given domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you wish. In case there is enabled email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain, you’ll receive a warning from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will permit you to configure a catch-all e-mailbox without difficulty even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each email address that you’ve set up with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will inform you if you’ve already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you don’t want this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
